Scripture: 2 Peter 3:9 and Isaiah 60:22
“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” — 2 Peter 3:9 (NKJV)
“A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation. I, the Lord, will hasten it in its time.” — Isaiah 60:22 (NKJV)
Have you ever needed God to move right now? Perhaps you were waiting for an answer to prayer, a door to open, or a burden to be lifted. You prayed, you believed, and you waited. Yet, as time passed, you wondered, “Lord, how much longer?”
Waiting can challenge our faith, especially when circumstances suggest that nothing is changing. But these scriptures remind us that God’s timing is governed by His wisdom, mercy, and divine purpose. God may not move according to our schedule, but we can trust Him to remain faithful to His promises. He’s an on-time God!
2 Peter 3:9 reminds us that the Lord is not slack concerning His promise. What appears to us to be a delay does not mean God has forgotten His Word. God’s patience is an expression of His mercy. His faithfulness does not depend on how quickly our circumstances change. He just might be giving us an opportunity to repent and turn to Him. In spite of our desire for immediate answers, God sees what we cannot see.
When the answer has not arrived, continue praying. When the road seems long, keep walking by faith. God’s silence is not proof of His absence, and waiting is not proof that His promises have failed.
Isaiah 60:22 declares that a little one shall become a thousand and a small one a strong nation. These words speak to God’s promise to restore and strengthen His people. What appears small today does not have to determine what God can accomplish tomorrow.
Two examples remind us not to underestimate God’s power or despise small beginnings; David faced Goliath with a sling and stones. A boy offered five loaves and two fish, and Jesus used that small offering to feed a multitude.
Resources may be limited, and progress may seem slow. Nevertheless, we must remain faithful. We must continue serving, praying, and believing. What looks small in our hands can still become an instrument of God’s purpose.
Isaiah concludes with God’s declaration: “I, the Lord, will hasten it in its time.”
Notice those words: in its time. God can bring His purposes to fulfillment, but we must trust His wisdom rather than demand that He follow our timetable.
While we are waiting, we should be praying, preparing, obeying, and serving, all while trusting God with the outcome. We must not allow our impatience to make us abandon our faith or disappointment to convince us that our story is over.
Perhaps you are waiting for an answer, praying for your family, or trusting God through an uncertain season. Keep believing when you cannot see the outcome. Keep praying when the answer seems delayed. Above all, keep your heart turned toward God.
You may not know when the answer will come, but you can trust the One who holds your future. Trust His promises, remain faithful in the process, and leave the timing in God’s hands, and always remember that He’s an on-time God!
Be Blessed!
